How are we going to wait until May?

So, now that we've booked our flight to Europe....I can hardly stand my excitement!! I mentioned in a previous blog that we're going (in May) - it's one of those things we want to do before we have kids, and we finally have enough vacation to do it! Since we made our reservations, and it's REALLY happening, pretty much all I want to do is trip planning. Most of our weekends are being spent reading guidebooks, searching the internet for places to stay, daydreaming, wondering how we're going to pack, and watching Rick Steves. :) The picture here is of Vernazza, one of the cities in the Cinque Terre, Italy - and currently the background on my computer screen. :)

For those of you who don't know the specifics, here's where we are planning to go (times vary a LOT - and we're going to maximize time in Prague and the Cinque Terre). The places we're visiting are:

Frankfurt (just fly in)

Munich

Salzburg (Sound of Music tour, here I come!!)

Prague

Rome

Florence

Cinque Terre

Milan (just for flight)

and London.

We're so looking forward to the trip - and actually I think it will be the longest trip that Seth and I have taken together...even longer than our Honeymoon! If anyone has input for ideas (places to see, stay, definitely not miss...whatever), we'd definitely appreciate it! I know we're going to end up hitting some snags...it's inevitable....but I'm sure we'll come home with good stories, many pictures, and hopefully not too many extra inches around the wasitline! :) I hear there's lots of good food in Europe, and the Cinque Terre is the birthplace of pesto!!!

It sounds like so much fun. If you take the sound of music tour which is amazing if you are a big fan. There are 2 of them. 1 is on a bus and has lots of people then there is one by van that is only a couple of people and you get to go to more place and it was fantastic. Also my favorite thing Erika did was in Florence. We went to a vinyard where they show you around and you get to taste the wine and olive oil. then they take you into their kitchen where they help you make a homeade italian dinner and then you share it with them in their house. It was so much fun. One more suggestion while in Munich go to Dauchan concentration camp. It is so eerie but really helps you to think about what happened. You are going to have so much fun.
